A private setting for considered surgical care

Dr. Hallström’s clinic is designed around a simple principle: surgical care should feel personal, organised and unhurried.

A clinic built around continuity of care

The practice is deliberately small and surgeon-led. Dr. Hallström personally conducts consultations, develops each surgical plan and remains involved throughout recovery and follow-up.

The wider clinical team supports every stage of care, including anaesthetic assessment, scheduling, pre-operative preparation and postoperative coordination.

This structure allows patients to know who is responsible for their care and who to contact when questions arise.

Living room & facilities

The clinic has been designed to feel private, calm and discreet rather than institutional.

  • Lounge chair beside a tall window with sheer curtains
  • Surgeon in theatre cap and mask, concentrating during surgery
  • Wood-panelled clinical counter with soft lighting
  • Portrait of a woman with long dark hair
  • Armchair, linen curtains and a walnut wall with a slim wall light
  • Operating theatre prepared for surgery
  • Close-up of a woman’s neckline and collarbones
  • Patient listening during a consultation
  • Recovery room with a reclining bed and warm wood panelling

Comfortable consultation rooms provide space for unhurried discussion and examination, while a dedicated patient lounge is available around appointments and postoperative reviews.

Clinical areas are equipped for specialist assessment, medical photography, dressing changes and routine postoperative care.

Appointments are scheduled to preserve privacy and avoid an unnecessarily busy waiting-room environment.

Before surgery

Consultation & deadlines

Initial consultations are scheduled with sufficient time to discuss your concerns, medical history, expectations and the procedures that may be appropriate for you.

Where surgery is being considered, Dr. Hallström will explain the available options, expected outcome, limitations, recovery and relevant risks before any decision is made.

There is no expectation to proceed during the first consultation.

Once surgery is planned, the clinic will provide a clear timeline covering any required investigations, pre-operative assessment, consent documentation, payment deadlines and the confirmed surgery date.

Patients should allow additional planning time where recovery will affect work, childcare, travel or other responsibilities.

Surgical planning

Every procedure is planned individually rather than according to a standard template.

Pre-operative appointments may include clinical photography, measurements, review of previous surgery or imaging where relevant, and discussion of incision placement, scars, recovery and expected changes.

For combined procedures, the overall duration of surgery and recovery requirements are considered carefully before a treatment plan is confirmed.

Surgery & anaesthesia

Operations are performed in appropriately equipped London hospital facilities with experienced theatre staff and a consultant anaesthetist where general anaesthesia or sedation is required.

The anaesthetic plan is reviewed before surgery and adapted to the procedure, medical history and individual patient requirements.

Depending on the operation, patients may return home the same day or remain in hospital overnight.

Preparing for surgery

Before surgery, patients receive procedure-specific preparation instructions covering medication, smoking and nicotine, eating and drinking, clothing, transport and practical arrangements for the first days of recovery.

Some procedures may require blood tests, additional investigations or assessment by the anaesthetic team.

Patients taking prescription medication, supplements or anticoagulants should discuss these with the clinical team rather than making changes independently.

Recovery & follow-up

Postoperative care is planned as part of the procedure rather than treated as a separate stage.

Before leaving hospital, patients receive written guidance on wound care, medication, activity restrictions and symptoms that should prompt contact with the clinic.

Follow-up appointments are arranged according to the procedure and may include early wound reviews, suture removal where required and longer-term assessment of healing, scars and surgical outcome.

Dr. Hallström remains involved throughout this period.

Privacy & discretion

Privacy is important throughout the practice.

Consultations, clinical photography and patient information are handled confidentially, and photographs are never used for teaching, publication or marketing without appropriate consent.

For patients who require additional discretion around scheduling, arrival or follow-up, the clinic team can discuss practical arrangements in advance.

International patients & travel

The clinic welcomes patients travelling to London from overseas.

Where appropriate, an initial remote consultation can be arranged before travel, followed by the required in-person examination and assessment before surgery.

The clinic team can help coordinate consultations, pre-operative appointments, surgery and early postoperative reviews around travel plans and can provide guidance on nearby accommodation and transport.

International patients should plan to remain near the clinic for an appropriate period after surgery. The required stay depends on the procedure, recovery and the timing of early follow-up appointments.

Long-distance or air travel should only resume once Dr. Hallström considers it appropriate.
